Remembering my mum on Mother’s Day She taught m Remembering my mum on Mother’s Day
She taught me strength. She taught me bravery. She taught me fearlessness. She taught me humour. She taught me love for my family.
In the last years of her life, my mum became more physically disabled.. but she kept her humour, love, care and compassion for her family. In fact along with enjoying days out shopping and at the local Harvester restaurant she overcome these challenges and kept her spirits high, creating a life with meaning, while rebuilding her confidence and life with humility and compassion...
I cannot forget each DVD film I brought her as a present, because it wasn't just a film to watch that I was buying, it was an adventure. As she was physically disabled she may not of been able to travel far and wide, but in her imagination, she could travel the world and live many magical adventures every time I left her in her room with the film playing, her life long favourites were Disney films. The other day I watched a Disney film so I could feel close to her (yes I have a valid excuse to watch kids films!😀)
For every challenge and battle I face, my mum is with me in my heart and mind, giving me the strength I need to make it in this world, and she will be with me celebrating my good times too.
Grief is just love with nowhere to put it...but you can’t stop love, so as promised, every year on Mother’s Day I will always take time out to reflect on my love for my mum and remember how she will always part of my world.
Thank you mum and god bless.
Grateful for a wholly unexpected honour. I was re Grateful for a wholly unexpected honour. I was recently informed I was a finalist for the 2022 NHS South West London People’s Choice award.
This was very special to me as it was nominated by members of the public and I had no idea this was happening.
Along with other finalists, I was very grateful to be awarded an NHS Peoples Choice Award Highly Commended Honour.
The last few years have brought significant challenges, both professionally and personally.
It was very moving to pause, reflect and celebrate this time as it has gone so fast.
Helping people with mental health challenges of all forms to gain, sustain and retain meaningful employment has been my life for two decades which is reward enough.
However, I have to thank those who would take their time, care and attention to go out of their way to nominate someone, thank you .🙏🏻.
I will continue to serve those you care for and love ❤️

During the pandemic I helped my teams though the t During the pandemic I helped my teams though the toughest time I have experienced in my NHS career, which led to isolation from human connection due to remote working.
6 months ago I switched from lone fitness training to group training with members of my local community in order to rewire broken connections.
The F45 training centre pushed me to my limits every week, with multiple high intensity training boot camp style workouts (45 minutes a piece).
With my new found community, I have met many people and connected with them both in the classes and as partners - pushing each other to the limit, and shared time in social events.
Today I made my 100th class.
That’s 100 x 45 minute HITT classes since July.
Total so far = 4500 minutes of HITT
My body has changed significantly
My mind is sharper and resilient again
My spirit is reconnected with others
I am back… and ready for a new year, new opportunities and a new outlook 🙏🏻. I have missed my social media friends and colleagues and looking forward to connecting with you again.
Grateful and honoured to have spoken today at the Grateful and honoured to have spoken today at the International Global Stress and Wellbeing Summit.
We spent time exploring the stigma around mental health challenges faced by people in the workplace.
In group discussions, we explored the impact stigma has on people experiencing mental health challenges, while exploring myths and stereotypes associated with mental ill health and work.
Alongside real-life examples of how conversations have helped challenge stigma with my clients and teams, we ended considering a future where everyone has a chance to contribute to the global workforce and live meaningful working lives, irrespective of neurodiversity and associated mental health challenges.
Thanks to the International Stress Management Association for the opportunity to serve with you 🙏🏻❤️

This week our employment service team were delight This week our employment service team were delighted to welcome delegates from Moldova #worldmentalhealthday2022
In Moldova, Cristina Nester and her colleagues are setting up the country’s first employment/IPS (Individual Placement and Support) service for people with mental health conditions.
Cristina approached our employment team to request support and best practice examples they can learn from.
IPS is an employment support approach and evidence based practice that was developed for people experiencing mental health issues to gain, sustain and retain employment across all industries.
It offers intensive, individually tailored support with expertise in personalisation.
Cristina and her team are setting up a new service aimed at promoting the employment of people with psychosocial disabilities in Moldova. They are at the very start of the project and felt they needed more information to be able to progress.
We were delighted to be asked to support them by sharing our experience and knowledge of implementing the IPS model.”

Celebrating 20 years NHS service this week 🙏🏻
I am truly moved, honoured and grateful to have been given the opportunities I have.
Two decades of helping people overcome mental ill health of all forms and severity, to build and rebuild meaningful working lives
Two decades of finding purpose and meaning in my life, by helping other people find theirs.
I have experienced ups, downs, beautiful and extremely challenging moments alike.
Looking back, I know my teams and I have made significant changes to the mental health system and workplaces that would never have been.
People who now hold their heads up high with a meaningful place in society and all that work can bring - meaning, purpose, structure, identity, money, friendships, relationships home, a way of life etc.
I am very proud and grateful for this time, and thank you to all that helped me along the way🙏🏻❤️
